Free access through Aug 31 - The Sustainability Network

Exciting launch update enclosed

Hello to The Sustainability Network!

Writing with an important launch day update.

Our Slack channel doors will still be opening next Thursday, July 25th - with one rather significant adjustment - access will be free through August 31st.

After seeking feedback and also understanding that we’re in the midst of summer holiday season, we feel that opening TSN to all as we begin is the best way to build community quickly while also giving us time to demonstrate value to you all. The Founder’s Rate will still be honored as we approach August 31st.

That said, we are using this week to onboard all of you into the Slack channel. You will gain access on July 25th, at which point we will begin networking and collaborating there! Our detailed landing page is now live here. There’s no need to register again as you are already in the waitlist, but please feel free to share with your colleagues who you think would benefit from joining.

As promised, here are some teasers of what we have in store:

Upcoming guest speakers

  • Courtney Holm - Sustainability Strategy Executive; ranked Top 10 Women in Sustainability and Top Corporate Sustainability Voice on LinkedIn

    • Courtney will be joining us for a fireside chat to discuss the impacts on social equity of the sustainability movement.

  • Michael Bradshaw, PhD - Professor of Global Energy at Warwick Business School UK

    • Michael will be joining us to speak about the ever-evolving geopolitical landscape of the energy transition and what it means for different people, governments and companies around the globe.

  • Mike Matson, PhD - Associate Director at Boston Consulting Group and leader of their Carbon Capture (CCUS) team

    • Mike will join us for a fireside chat around the increasing affordability of certain CCUS solutions, trends in the space, and emerging technology.

Some of our initial focus topics

  • Resource criticality and the circular economy - how can we help our companies and clients assess the health and longevity of certain raw materials or products in their supply chains, developing a strategy to mitigate risk?

  • How can we launch or adapt climate strategy to current economic volatility by undertaking ESG initiatives at the intersection of both cost and carbon reduction?

  • Renewable energy sourcing and federal funding - how can our companies or clients most effectively reduce their Scope 2 emissions while also gaining eligibility to federal tax incentives and climate funding?

  • What challenges exist on the consumer side of transitioning to more sustainable products and services? What behavior change will be required to ensure and accelerate adoption of these new products and business models?

Our First Virtual Networking Event

  • Upon Slack doors opening on July 25th, we will announce our first virtual networking event where we can connect with other sustainability professionals across the industry.

Thank you all for your support and we’re excited to meet you next week!

Best,

Max P Frank
